We just returned from a 2 week cruise on the Dawn Quebec to Quebec. The port stops were wonderful but too short. More often than not it took like 1 to 2 hours to get off the ship at each spot especially at the tender spots. I realize that tendering takes longer but then that should be taken into consideration and departure and arrival times being adjusted to accommodate. We took this cruise to tour the port cities not to just sit on the ship and drink and party. We both felt that more emphasis was on the party part not the tour part. Don't get me wrong we enjoy having fun and going for a few drinks at the end of the day but 2 weeks was too long to be on this particular cruise. We did have a bad storm so ended up with an additional sea day which could not be helped as no one can control the weather. We talked to other passengers who also felt the same way. In fact more than once we heard if there was anymore time stuck on the ship they were ready to jump overboard...lol. If you are considering this cruise my suggestion would be to do the 7 day cruise and then land tours at Quebec and Boston.

All the ports were really interesting and we enjoyed each of them but not enough time to do a whole lot. We booked private taxi tours with a few so we could make the best use of our port time. This is not a scenic cruise like Alaska we had only one morning that we could sit out on the deck and see scenery and that was the morning heading into the Saguenay Fjord now that was totally awesome. As for food, entertainment and staff these were all just wonderful no complaints. Cleanliness was evident and the staff were always fun and entertaining. The gym was just adequate as the equipment wasn't the best. We would just go and warm up on the treadmills then go outside and use the running track. Based on this experience we have decided that cruising for us will be limited to 7 days and to hot climate areas where sitting by the pool and soaking up the sun is all we can expect.
