We have cruised a few times with Celebrity before but they have always been the newer ships: Reflection, Silhouette and Eclipse. This was the first time on a millennium class ship and I guess we had been spoilt because we really thought you could tell the difference, I guess it’s to be expected as the Infinity has at least 10 years on the newer ships. It seemed to be little things that hadn’t been maintained and I guess we got the general feeling that the ship as a whole had been left in the shadow of the Solstice class. We spoke to a couple that had major noise issues in their cabin and struggled to sleep at night and I don’t think it was just them, luckily we didn’t have to experience that!

Our cabin was fine but nothing special, it doesn’t really bother us though as we like to be out as much as possible. Again the theme of being a little dated was there. We also thought it was a little dark and gloomy (this we noticed all over the ship- maybe they are saving on the lighting bill!) possibly because of the darker decor making it seem that way.

We loved the itinerary, which was classed as a wine cruise and even though we aren’t overly crazy for wine we still loved the ports of call. That’s not to say we didn’t enjoy testing out a few glasses along the way! We especially enjoyed the over night in Le Havre where we got the chance to go to Paris, something me and my husband had wanted to do for a long time now. The variety of stops was great and it was fantastic to see the Guggenheim in Bilbao. We also had a couple of great meals in Bilbao and Vigo.
