I just spent 10 horrific days on the oldest boat in the fleet - had I known this I would have never booked this trip. As always the staff was great (this was our 4th MSC cruise) but the ship was in horrible condition. Everything was in need of repair - on the first night the shower head fell on my husbands head when he turned the shower on, we couldn't get any soap out of the dispenser at the sink, the shower curtain was dirty, there were no face clothes and the list goes on and on! I had to have my mattress changed because it was like sleeping on the floor, there is no mattress pad, not soft overstuffed cushy bed like we are used to and the pillows were so bad that it was like someone had taken a bag of cotton balls and filled them up. Even getting a new pillow made no difference. I would have needed 4 pillows to make 1 good one. Other guests commented on stains and rips on their comforters which really need replacing.

The TV was a clunky old Phillips which I don't even thing they make anymore and took up way too much room.

Guest Services was understanding and tried to make up for the poor conditions with fruit bowls and water coupons but that was not enough.

Cabin Review

Inside staterooms are always a challenge but we started off on the wrong foot here. We expected a queen size bed and we got two twins - it took them another day to put the bed back together and after a horrible nights sleep (not sleeping and waking up aching) they changed out my side of the mattress. Apparently this was a common complaint. There is no mattress pad and it was like sleeping on the floor. The bedding is old - the comforter was old and in need of replacing, the blanket had been cut and the top badly re-sewn, the TV was an old Phillips clunky TV that took up way more room than it should have and the shower was awful.
