We are a couple aged 70 and cruised many times before but never with Costa. We booked this cruise last minute for our 48th wedding anniversary. We had read many negative as well as lots of positive reports about Costa but decided for the price of £599 for a deck 11 superior grade cabin with balcony and the facility of room service breakfast included we would give it a go. Starting at Savona we arrived in our car to be greeted, assisted with unloading of our luggage and the car taken away for safe parking. We then entered the terminal building where everything was really well organised and given a boarding number, our number was called after around 40 mins.

On boarding we were directed to our cabin by very courteous and helpful staff. Our luggage arrived within 2 hrs which we thought was a great service. We requested a table for 2 at late sitting which was given us. We also took out the drinks package which enables you to have as many soft, alcoholic, cocktails, coffees and water as you wish whenever you want. The food was really good with well varied menus and lots of choices with a friendly smiley waitress and her assistant, also the drinks package enables you to enjoy a glass or glasses of wine with your meals.

The entertainment was superb with first class singers and dancers which some west end theatres would struggle to emulate, also the lighting and sound in the theatre was 21st century. All around the ship in the bars and ballrooms they have music for everyone from Pop to Classical with lots in between. The beauty salon, hairdressers and spa were all reasonably priced with friendly and helpful staff. Customer services were also very efficient, having had a problem in the cabin somebody arrived within minutes to rectify and customer services followed up with a call to make sure everything was OK. Disembarkation was a dream no pushing and shoving just so well organised with our car waiting for us with the luggage. Will definitely do a Costa Cruise again.
