The kids (9 & 14) come to visit every summer, and this year we surprised them with a cruise! This was also hubby's first cruise, but my second. We wanted to take a cruise without our youngest kid (5) first, to see if she would handle it well.

We went to Cozumel on the 4 day cruise out of New Orleans on the Carnival Elation. We opted for the "Faster to the Fun" package, and it was worth every cent! We literally were able to walk straight onto the ship, right to our rooms, and then right up to the pool! While the kids were swimming and we were relaxing, the other guests were still waiting for their rooms to be ready. We also ordered a little souvenir for each kid which were waiting in the room when we arrived.

The food was very good, although we were a bit buffeted out by the time we got home. The main dining room food was exquisite, and the hubby tried (and LOVED) escargot!

Cabin Review

Ocean View

Cabin 6D

Although the view was great from the window, the rest of the cabin left a bit to be desired. We literally had to climb over the beds to get to the window because the cabin was so small. I'm glad none of us are claustrophobic! We really didn't spend any time in the cabin though, we were always out doing stuff and having fun. There were only three drawers in the room, so my husband and I shared one and each kid had their own for clean clothes and whatever treasures they got at the kids clubs.
