I have to say that Carnival's customer service is the worst I have experienced anywhere. To sum it all up Customer experience ranks low on their to do list. I've never felt more insignificant when dealing with Carnival's customer service team both when I booked my cruise and after I boarded the Carnival Splendor. Which by the way is not so Splendid. If you like mediocre food and entertainment then by all means board this vessel. If you like staff members who are rude and displeased by your presence then this is the cruise for you. I've never felt more uncomfortable in my entire life. Most of the wait staff aboard this ship were not friendly, especially the wait staff. I felt ashamed to ask for milk and not cream, I felt scared to ask for more water or bread.

Food was less then what I expected, I could not stomach it after the 5th day. Some dishes were okay, others were just plain unappetizing. Nasty runny fake eggs and rubber sausages for breakfast. The buffet was horrible, mass quantities of tasteless food, covered in germs, followed by poorly washed utensils and cups. The drinking cups were on the side of the beverage machines for everyone to touch, and they smelled horrible. You could take one sniff and guess what was in each cup before you picked it up. Unsanitary! Most of the beverage machines were not working or spewing out unmixed drinks. One of the waiters at the grill was sweating profusely onto the burgers, drop after drop serving sweaty hamburgers to each guest. I stopped one of the staff members by the grill to ask for a manager and he was angry with me, and asked me what did I want a manger for? When I explained why he just told me there wasn't a manger around and he would take care of it, but he did nothing. Finally I asked the waiter to wipe his face before serving me which he did. It was really disgusting. Which brings me to my next point, the waiter sweating on our food was obviously ill but yet he still was allowed to work with food! The majority of the wait staff are over worked, working 15 hour days, no rest. Serving meal after meal, from morning till way after midnight. Which is why most of the staff are disgruntled which trickles down into customer service.

Also, there is nothing to do on this ship other than the planned activities, the night clubs, and gambling. We were bored most of the time, if we didn't catch an activity then there would be nothing to do so we would wander the ship. Only a few crew members were nice to us, but I would never travel with Carnival again based on customer service alone, they did not care whether we were happy or not, they were rude and unaccommodating.

Ocean Suite

We spent a lot of money on this cruise even paying extra for an ocean suite which was a nice suite, but you could see the wear and tear on it. The bathroom however, was very nice. I would recommend an Ocean Suite but aboard another cruise line and not with Carnival!
