This was the first cruise for my husband and I. We went with our 3rd old, along with my brother and sister in-laws and, their 8 yr old. Being our first cruise, I had no idea what to expect. I imagined a ship full of screaming, running, out of control kids. I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered it was not that at all. The ship never felt crowded. We never had to wait in lines for anything. The kids were all well behaved and I never heard a kid screaming throwing a temper tantrum. We have a balcony room with a pull down bed, which our 3 yr old loved. She especially loved the different towel animals on her bed each day. On the first day, our steward put the bed back in the ceiling and our daughter cried because her bed was gone. We just called and asked to have it left out the remainder of the stay. Our steward did an awesome job keeping our room neat and tidy each day. The kid's club was great! Our daughter couldn't wait to go there every night after dinner and play for a couple hours. It was nice to have some adult time for a few hours each night knowing she was having fun.

We only did the assigned set down dinner two of the four nights. We had chosen the earlier dinner, but found it was almost too early for us. Yet that later dinner time would have been too late. So we just ate at the pool grill one night and ordered room service another. One thing that we really liked about Disney is that you can bring your own alcohol on. We aren't huge drinkers, but like to have a couple drinks each night. We also made our own bloody marys in the morning. Castaway Cay was our favorite port. Although it was chilly the day we stopped there, we still had fun playing at the beach and appreciated that all of our food was still included for the day. I would recommend Disney for any family with young children. I didn't see many teenagers, so was glad that we hadn't brought our older daughters with. Our daughter is still talking about the Mickey pool and asking when she can go on a big boat again.

Cabin Review

Cabin 5B

Perfect location on the ship, located about mid ship, near the elevators. Worth the extra money for a balcony! The views from the balcony are amazing and we loved getting coffee in the morning and then sitting outside.
