This was our 4th cruise (3 Carnival, 1 Royal Caribbean). This was, by far, our best cruise. This ship is huge, but we were able to get around it easily. Our balcony room was 8297, almost midship. Accomodations were very nice. Everything worked perfectly, we had no problems at all. Even being under the Lido Deck, we hardly heard any noises. Our room steward was Esperanza. This was her last cruise before heading back to the Philippines for a well deserved vacation with her son. The food was excellent. We dined in the Golden Pearl dining room. We did take one night to enjoy a fantastic dinner in the Pinnacle Steakhouse, on deck 11.

It was only $35 per person for a 5 course (if you count the Chef's complimentary tasting) meal. I enjoyed the 18oz rubbed rib eye, while my wife had the 9oz filet. Other choices included a cowboy steak, NY strip, and a lobster tail. Best service and meal I've had in years. Our meals in the dining room were great also. I have to eat gluten free and the staff was very accommodating to my needs, as well with others having food allergies.

Our ports of call were very clean and the staffing were extremely helpful and friendly.

Cabin 8D

This cabin is a little forward of midship. It was nicely appointed. Plenty of closet space. Drawers are a little shallow, but we've found this on most cruise ships. This has a nice sleeper sofa between the bathroom wall and the bed. There is a small nightstand on each side of the bed, with a fixed light on it. I have a C-Pap machine for my sleep apnea and I had to set it on the sofa instead of the night stand, as there just wasn't room enough. The closets are on your right, as you enter the room, there are 3 doors, then a vanity counter that runs for about 7 or 8 ft. Lighted mirrors above it. There is a flat screen tv mounted on the wall. The door to the balcony opens out and is a very substantial door (heavy). The room was very clean and had the feel that it had recently been redone. The bathroom had a molded sink to the right, as you entered. A shower to your left and the toilet next to it.The shower has a shower gel and shampoo dispenser, filled and waiting. You could go without bringing those things to save some space. There were other amenities in the bathroom also. Like lotions, tooth paste, soaps, etc.The only complaint I'd have with this room is there is some sort of ventilation unit that is on the Lido Deck, just above the room, so we had that kind of a droning sound all the time, which did help in getting to sleep at night and was probably better than the party noises on the rest of the Lido Deck.I would get this room again, if I had to.
