My wife and I decided to take this ship to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had read the reviews prior to booking and decided to roll the dice. Although the Enchantment of the Seas is now one of RC’s older ships, we were presently surprised on how well the ship was kept in “ship shape”. Of course there were some irritations that I’ll get to later in the review.
The embarkation process was very good, which I think RC excels at. It took only about 15 minutes from getting through security to stepping on board. Once on board, it only took about another 10 minutes or so before the announcement was made that the cabins were ready. It does help to be at least Gold status.
On the dining front, we only ate twice at the My Fair Lady Dining Room, once for dinner and once for breakfast. Dinner was decent, not too memorable. Breakfast was just meh. I don’t recommend the Eggs Benedict. You’ll receive the world’s smallest portion of hash browns that comes with it. The surprisingly good option was the Windjammer Buffet. We had breakfast there and they do know how to correctly cook scrambled eggs. Dinner there was also above average compared to other cruise buffets we have sampled. For our anniversary dinner we tried Chops Grille. It’s well worth the extra $30 to dine here. I had the 20 oz. Porterhouse and it was cooked to perfection. The one thing I would say about the dining room was that service was slow. We did have to remind our Chops Grille waiter to “giddy up” because we had a show to catch.
Our cabin was on deck 4, mid ship. Very convenient location, not too close to the noisy atrium but close enough to to all the action on deck 5 and 6 and a short walk to the dining room.
