We had looked forward to the cruise departing from Vienna on the 7th September 2014 what we found was a catalogue of disappointments

Buffets awful, the food was basic and always Luke warm, the waiters were none existent and never came to see if you required drinks. The first night as we were tired so decided to eat in the buffet in the evening as we were on second sitting but when we got there the buffet was nearly empty the food for the evening was dried up French fries and the tables were dirty and around us there were more than five tables that had not even been cleared we were in there for about half an hour and did not see a waiter.

During our limited time round the pools I went to the bar to get a couple of drinks. I sat there for about 15 minutes being totally ignored, other people came got served and went I felt like I was invisible in the end I asked one of the waitresses how I could get a drink and she took my order for me.

We have cruised on P&O, Island cruises & Azamara & loved everyone one of them even though they were all totally different. What we particularly like is eating in different restaurants this was impossible on Fantasia. The editors comment totally inaccurate

L'etoille was specifically for MSC Yacht Club members and when we asked about it we felt like second class citizens

Red Velvet was first and second sitting dining and if you were booked into Il Cerchio D Oro as we were you were not allowed to try it

We did go to Tex Mex but had to pay another 57 euros for the meal which was vey good but totally spoilt by the restaurant being a walkway through the ship. The other guests walking through and staring @ what you were eating which was of putting to say the least.

The reception and excursion staff were rude and unhelpful, we asked if we could have the earliest disembarkation as our taxi had been booked early and you would have thought we had asked for preferential treatment in the end they allowed us to disembark earlier but not without a long discussion.

We asked the excursion staff on one occasion if shuttle buses were available in Athens she told us we would have to wait until the daily planner paperwork was delivered to our cabin to find out. This was probably half an hour away so she would have known.

The ship is very nice and we could have enjoyed it if the staff had a regime had been more friendly. We would never go with MSC again
