We used to travel down to Southampton from mid Suffolk in our car, staying overnight at a spa hotel, indulging in a first class dinner then going down to the dock by taxi and after the cruise returning to the hotel by taxi to pick up our car.
Having costed this out a couple of times, we decided this time that for marginally more money we could get a return taxi all the way down to the port without the hassle of driving.
We got to the terminal at about 10.30 and took the lift up to the departure lounge. We later discovered that, as DW is mainly wheelchair bound we could have asked at the lower floor reception for help to push the chair aboard. We went to the check in area and all went smoothly as a priority check in. We then proceeded to a refreshment area to wait until called to pass through the security department.
Good wheelchair access cabin small problem with the safe, keypad number 3 faulty so don't use it as part of your pin number.
