Having just returned from our first cruise on a Thomson ship, I can't praise it enough. This is my 3rd cruise the previous two being on a Celebrity ship which was much bigger and newer, Obviously due to its size and age,the Spirit's facilities were more limited, however the standard of cleanliness, food and entertainment were 1st class. We had been upgraded to a suite which was lovely. The staff were terrific and in fact the entertainment by the waiters in the Compass Rose Restaurant made the whole dinner experience something to look forward to as well as the food which was excellent. Got to give a special mention to our two waiters Elvis and Ren. The entertainment in the Broadway Show Lounge was worthy of the West End, an excellent team and the comedian on the last evening was really funny without resorting to smut or bad language. The whole crew were lovely and appeared very happy which is a credit to their employers. The whole embarkation, and disembarkation experience was very smooth. I would definitely have no hesitation in recommending 'The Spirit' to friends.
Our cabin was lovely very spacious and the attention to detail by our cabin attendants Cris and Bert was exemplary.
