As a veteran of 31 Princess cruises I have come to expect a high quality vacation experience as the normal performance from Princess Cruises. My wife and I were not disappointed on this cruise. Everything from the ease of embarkation to a speedy disembarkation was top notch. We had a clean, comfortable cabin and over-sized balcony on Caribe Deck where we enjoyed breakfasts and lunches gathered from the varied delicious offerings from the International Café and Bistro. The naturalist did a great job of bringing closer to nature. The illusionist/magician was personable, funny, quick witted and his shows were outstanding. He even took the time to show interested passengers how he did some basic up close magic. The singer/comedian who was once a member of the Beach Boys was hilarious and oh so talented with the guitar. Attending the shows were pure pleasure and fun. The production shows although seen on previous cruises have no gotten old and the energy and talent of the singers and dancers was commendable. On a more refined side the string quartet from the Ukraine was stellar. Their arrangements of what I would call more modern music was noteworthy but their musicality on the classical pieces was nothing short of phenomenal. Hopefully Princess will continue to offer classical music on their itineraries. I would like to see the quartets in a less noisy area where rude passengers cannot disrupt performances with their meaningless obnoxious blabber. Their concert in the Vista Lounge on the final night inport Victoria at 9:30pm was outstanding but only about a dozen passengers managed to attend and that is a shame. The Princess orchestra did a great job whenever they played but they really stood out with their Dixieland jazz events in the Piazza and their tribute to Glenn Miller in the Vista Lounge. The everyday dinner meals were once again quite good in all respects and the presentation and wait-service was equally noteworthy. One dinner at the Crown Grill was over the top outstanding. Do not skip the opportunity to have this culinary experience. The surcharge is well worth the expense and would easily cost well over $200 in most fine restaurants. The ship is around 16 years old and shows a little rust here and there but she is still shipshape and clean. We had forgotten that there is no stairway above deck 7 midships but we adjusted our paths to make the impact negligible. Thoroughly enjoyed the presentation from Libby Riddles, the first woman to win the 1100 mile Iditarod sled dog race.

Balcony

Cabin BD

Great location, larger balcony where one can be in the sun or under shelter is a great option and worth the expense. Comfortable bed with a mattress topper and a smallish closet but for a week we did not have any inconveniences in that regard.
