This was our third cruise with MSC and this is what happened.

Transfers: This was the first time that we went on a MSC package. Our flight landed around 11 am. When we went through arrivals we could not see the MSC rep anywhere. We walked up and down the terminal looking for them, then I saw the Norwegian cruise rep, walked towards her and just as I got to her a girl put up the MSC sign.We had to wait until everyone arrived before we were brought to the bus, guess what, no bus.

Another wait, eventually it came and then began a slow drive to the ship, now when I say slow I mean slow. The only thing that didn't pass us on the road was a bicycle.

Boarding: We did the Web check in, thinking it would get us on board quicker, WRONG we had to go through the same procedure as everyone else. So from landing at the airport to getting on board took four hours.

ON board: The last two cruises we were brought to our cabin, this time we were pointed in the direction of the lifts and told the floor number. When we got to our room we had to wait for our luggage, unlike the last two times when our luggage got to the room before us.

Cabin:Like the other two ships the cabin was clean and kept that way through out the cruise.

Food:Food in the buffet and restaurants is good with a wide selection, and dining in the restaurants is relaxing.

Staff: Any member of staff that we met were very nice. Speaking to one member we were told about their long hours with no days off for many months. So if you see some staff that don't look happy, you know why.

Disembarking: To our surprise disembarking was very quick unlike the other two times.

Hints; When you walk through the doors at arrivals if you don't see the MSC rep turn left and keep walking until you see a MEETING POINT sign and then you will find them. Web check in, is a waste of time. If you can afford it, get private transfers, it will save you a lot of time and get you to the ship quicker. At some ports the ship has a shuttle bus,do your home work, at some ports you don't need the bus to get in to the city and at others you will find a cheaper way to get in.We always went to the buffet at 9 am and always got a seat,if the ship docks late, wait for a bit, and you will get a seat. Its all about managing the time. For tours, again do your home work, the ship tours are expensive.Check TripAdvisor for the best tours in the port.

As I said this was our third time on an MSC Cruise and we are already looking forward to next year. The mistakes I made this time I wont make next year.
