We were scheduled to do the Western Caribbean on Aug 30 and travel counterclockwise. Due to upcoming storms Carnival changed it to clockwise so that we would avoid the storms. That was a great move because we missed both storms!!

We had an amazing time on this cruise. My first hint would be for you to check in with Carnival at the airport if you fly in. You will get your room key and they will take your photo ID. We opted to take a cab ride to the port so that we did not have to wait around for a scheduled ride. The price was only $25 (plus tip). Once you get to the port there is a separate line for folks who have already checked in....one, two, three - we were on board!

CABIN: We had an inside cabin on the bottom floor of the ship. It was so dark and nice and quiet. The room itself was big enough for the 2 of us. There were plenty of hanging closets, one tall dresser and one short dresser. We also brought a wrinkle reducer spray so that we did not have to iron anything. The cabin had a safe (which made us not worry), hair dryer and mini-bar. We had them unlock the mini bar so that we could use it as a refrigerator.

For our first cruise, we wanted to be in the inside. The room was big enough for the two of us. We just pushed the twin beds together, and by evening, the steward made our bed up for us as if it was a queen bed! It was so nice and quiet in our room. We did not even know IF we had neighbors! There was plenty of closet space and hanging closet space. Bathroom had enough shelves for our toiletries. We used the mini-bar as a fridge and locked our passports and extra cash in the room safe. For our next cruise, we would like to have a window!
