Public Areas: There is a beautiful large modern color changing chandelier through three floors of the main atrium. Beautiful! The usual jewelry store/art auction pushing. The Atrium has a great enormous screen used for group activities. EVERYONE is on the three main decks on the first day like walking through Times Square. After the first day, the crowd thins out. The décor is part New York and part contemporary tastefully fused. The library and internet café are WAY too close to the Atrium. There are two pools on the ship. One geared towards families and then an adult pool. Also, there are hot tubs in the H20 deck that are very nice.

Dining: The dining room staff seemed overwhelmed frequently. The food was pretty much on par with every other cruise we were on. We dined at Cagney's one evening and the food was fine but again, the staff seemed overwhelmed. The buffet was fine (except for the bacon). Usually, there is someone walking around asking if they can get you coffee or juices. Not on this cruise and also, silverware wasn't always readily available. The product of 4,000+ guests I guess. The breakaway certainly needs to add more staff to their dining rooms.

The Entertainment: This is where the Breakaway shines. The cruise director, Julie seemed not personable enough but the rest of the staff is hilarious and make normal activities like trivia a load of fun. The shows, Burn the Floor and Rock of Ages were just about Broadway caliber not to be missed. Second City has a troupe on board and they definitely are doing Second City's reputation justice. Allowing children in the comedy shows puts big constrains on the troupe and would be so much better if Norwegian would make this change. Also, they offer an improve class which I highly recommend participating in. Plan ahead, make reservations and make your way to the theaters a half hour before showtime.
