On the cold, but sunny December 22nd, 2013, myself, my parents, my grandparents, my aunt and uncle, and my 2 cousins embarked on a journey so fantastic that it will be etched into our memories for the rest of time. This voyage was a 4-night Bahamian cruise on the old, but newly renovated Carnival Sensation. The 2,000+ passenger vessel, 2 times the size of the Titanic, took us to two exotic destinations named Freeport and Nassau, both in the Bahamas. This glitzy, elegant, and fun voyage has been the highlight of my entire year.

The first day of the cruise was fairly hectic. 9 bodies stuffed into my grandparents’ house that was only supposed to accommodate 5. The line to take a shower was over 2 hours long and all of us were very impatient because we were so excited to board the lovely ship. We got on the road at about 10:30 and got to Port Canaveral at about 12:00. We dropped off our luggage with the porters and to our surprise, a representative came up to us and asked if we wanted to start a new line. We sped through security and got our key cards within 10-15 minutes of arriving. Now was the big moment, we walked up the gangplank, entered the atrium and all we could say was "Wow."

After approximately 5 minutes of admiring the ambiance of the grand vessel, we went up to the Lido Buffet to get some delicious lunch. Just like my previous cruise on the Carnival Fascination, Sensations sister ship, there was 24 hour pizza and ice cream. We finished our delectable meal and scurried up to the Lido deck to reserve our lounge chairs for the rest of the afternoon. After about 5 minutes, my parents asked for my cousin, Patrick and I to go downstairs to see if our rooms were ready. They were ready and our luggage had already arrived as well. We told our parents and they went down to change into their swimsuits after we did so ourselves. The entire group walked back up when all of a sudden, our ship started moving.
