We cruise alot these days and like these two lines.  Here is my comparison of their mid-ships ( ie Nav/mariner of Seas vs Grand/Star Princess)... Both are very clean and no issues with staffing or pleasantness thereof. Windjammer vs Horizon Crt : basically a tie as far as food goes. Princess offers better hours and more fruit/veggies at lunch, RCLL has Lemonade and flavoured water out with iced tea so more options. RCLL closes Windjammer 11-noon and 430-530pm which is a ROYAL (pun intended) pain to me as snacks are now 6 floors away and so is an iced tea. Strange times to close IMO. Princess keeps one line open always and open later at nite as well BBQ Princess wins. Their burgers and hotdogs are fresh on a BBQ, RCLL has then sitting in pans in buffet. Pizza also way better on Princess. RCLL has best fries ANYWHERE tho. CASINO basically the same BUT Princess usu offers 2 smoke-free nites in a 7-day cruise which is nice Entertainment Dont really like the singers n dancers on either line. So no winner and u are at mercy of who the headliners brtought in are on each cruise. RCLL wins tho as Quest game show (adults only) and ice shows are not avail on Princess. All have outdoor movies at nite tho. Better movies IMO on Princess. DINING ROOM Both are excellent in staff and food. No complaints. RCLL does offer a great salad bar at lunch. Food was awesome on both. RCLL offers open concept so u can see all three floors so it looks more grand , as Princess ships only have your one floor visible. For the 'always avail' food, Princess has a wicked fett alfredo, RCLL has escargots and their desserts include liqueur recipes. SHIP LAYOUT Seemed RCLL ships were easier to navigate ( again, pun). Princess seem to put the kitchen towards mid-ship so entry gets blocked off and u have to approach from a floor up or down. SPORTS RCLL wins hands down. both have ball courts but Flowrider and rock walls and way better mini-golf make it a non contest. TRIVIA lots on both ships but RCLL offers music trivia NIGHTLY. Prizes are lame on both. Logo and dingbat trivai were good on RCLL. Lyric and liars club were good on Princess. CABINS RCLL are bigger. If 4 in a cabin, RCLL uses a hide-a-bed while 2 bunks come from the ceiling on Princess. Some inside cabins on RCLL have a virtual screen looking off the stern and its very realistic, sound too! STAFF Never had a concern on any of these lines. AGE OF CRUISERS RCLL is younger. More kids (teens) and younger parents due to all the fun things to do. More late 20-s, 30's honeymooners too. Princess is older but not that much ( not like H America, Crystal etc,) Overall, Princess is better IMO in food due to a better Cafe, BBQ and buffet and RCLL is better if u want fun, espec with teens, BUT both are great , even where the other line is the better option
