I am a single parent who took a cruise with my 13 year old son from August 3-10 2014 on the Breakaway to Bermuda. I booked the trip in February, only to find out that the price dropped by 880 dollars one month before the trip. I booked online with my American Express card directly with Norwegian & I was told that once I paid in full, there was nothing I could do to get reimbursed. I tried to dispute the charge with American Express & in the end, I took the loss of 880 dollars, since even American Express couldn't do anything about it for me! Norwegian drops their prices to the extreme exactly one month before, so book your trip only one month beforehand in order to get the lowest price!

The food at the regular buffet was like cafeteria food, so if you like to eat a good meal, you have to pay extra for the specialty restaurants. The pools are so small for the amount of people on the ship, and finding a beach chair becomes aggravating too since there are not enough beach chairs for everyone. You are not allowed to bring your kids to any of the clubs there at night, so there is nothing for kids to do after dinner. The shows on the boat were no big deal either. The only good part of my trip was getting off & going around the beautiful island of Bermuda. I was bored for most of the time while I was on this ship, plus this was my first cruise experience & definitely never cruise Norwegian ever again. Be prepared to pay for all the extra activities, because not much is covered with the price of the cruise.

Cabin Review

Spa Balcony is nice room, but all children under age 18 are not allowed in the spa pool!!! However, if you are willing to pay for a spa treatment for your children under 18, Norwegian will gladly take your money & allow children to get a treatment, but no entry into the spa pool!!
