We are an unmarried couple in our mid-50s taking our first serious vacation together. My SO was very, very negative on the cruise concept, after a miserable experience on Carnival 15 yrs ago. I pushed for the cruise, and by the first night on Adventure of the Seas, my guy was a total convert. We can hardly wait for our next cruise!

The ship is fabulous, the Promenade is just breathtaking. We loved the artwork and decor, the many, many distinct activity centers, the lovely dining room and theater - it was all great. We love to dance, and there were many possible venues for that ranging from the piano players in the lobby and Schooners Bar, to the combo groups on the Promenade, to the salsa or rock bands in the lounges. Per my previous experience on Royal Caribbean, the quality of the musicians was excellent - and on a ship this large, there is always great music happening somewhere. (For the younger set, Jesters disco features music that we prefer to avoid!) We were mistakenly assigned to early seating, but got change to late. We sat with three other couples and had such a great fun that we were generally the last to leave the dining room!

Embarkation was smooth and fast. Filling out the online forms really make the process easy. We were out of the cab and on board in less than 30 minutes. Be sure to pack summer clothes in a carry-on bag so you can enjoy the pool, etc right away.
