We booked this cruise tour to celebrate our 40th anniversary. Princess seemed to have the advantage over other cruise lines due to owning their own lodges on the land tour so that played a major factor into our choice of cruise lines. We did a 7 day northbound cruise and a 4 day land tour ending in Fairbanks. We have no regrets! Our cabin steward was wonderful and met every need. I booked everything online thru Princess with a few phone calls to confirm everything was done correctly and it worked out perfect for us.

We were in Cabin A505 which was a great location and protected during our nasty weather so we were still able to be on our balcony where the people in the mini suite next door were not. The cabin was a little smaller than we have had on Royal Caribbean and I didn't like having a shower curtain vs. a door like we had on Royal. Closet space and storage was very spacious.

The food was good but we didn't think it was as good as we had had on Royal Caribbean and the service from some of the waiters was definitely not up to par. We often sat with dirty dishes in front of us while the wait staff would walk by and never pick them up. It was often difficult to get them to bring you juice, coffee, etc. and one night at dinner I ordered coffee and never received it even though the rest of the table did. They really pushed the drink specials in the dining room. One waiter would come by first and then another one would come by and try again. I felt like it was a timeshare presentation.

Cabin Review

Some of our view was obstructed due to the mini suite/balcony protruding forward but this also provided us with protection from the elements during our inclement weather.
