We have just returned from a wonderful 11 night cruise with Celebrity Reflection. The cruise started in Rome and then went through the Eastern Mediterranean (Santorini, Istanbul, Kusadasi, Mykonos, Athens) before returning to Rome with a final stop in Naples. The ports covered were varied and offered a very good opportunity to get to know several destinations, including some major cities. There was an overnight stop in Istanbul.

The ship itself is of a very high standard, very clean and well presented. It is obvious that this is a very recent addition to Celebrity's fleet. The decor was nice and the ship made it easy to feel at home within a short time. The cleanliness of the ship and the personal service provided by staff was outstanding. The ship was not too big. A particularly interesting feature is that much entertainment centres around the Grand Foyer. Bars at different levels were close to the Grand Foyer so that people could see what was going on. The night life seemed to focus on the Martini Bar on deck 4 with two excellent DJs. The main restaurant was well presented as was the self-service restaurant. However, too much space is given to speciality dining Restaurants (that incur a extra fee) that were heavily promoted, but did not seem to be too popular. This is a shame as more space could have been used for other bars or more shops. Also, the shopping seemed a little bit too much geared towards the high end customer. The pool and the sundeck is well presented, but the pool itself is too small. It was possible to get sunbeds even on sea days which was great given that the ship seemed fully booked. However, again, too much space is consumed by the lawn club and special sitting areas adjacent to it that people have to pay for. Here, it would have been nicer to have more open communal space for everyone.

The dining experience both in the main and the self service restaurant was great with very good food. However, there were times when the self service restaurant had only little choice as they changed from breakfast to lunch or afternoon to dinner with about 30 or more minutes in between. It would be better to have more food permanently as many people arrived back from day excursions or the pool at different times and would have liked a little bit more choice then.
