Solstice is not jam packed with athletic activities such as a climbing wall one gets on RC. But the indoor solarium is well done for a northern cruise to Alaska.

Service was a little more rigid and standoffish than other cruise lines. Our waiters never anticipated my kids needs which we requested each night such as ketchup. I love the uniqueness of the hors d'oeuvres and would order more than one each night. But ship policy would only allow them to birng one at a time thus drawing out the meal longer, which when traveling with youngsters may be less than ideal.

My favorite food was discovering the breakfast at the solarium. As part of a light and healthy theme, threre was granola and fruit slices all beautifully presented. Yes, all food is available at the buffet, but the presentation and atmosphere helps one to think light and healthy on a cruise.
