This is the first year MSC has based a ship for a long period of time in the USA. This ship is new and beautiful. They have gotten most of the "kinks" out of changing from the European way to the USA way of doing things regarding cabin towel usage and dining time. Europeans don't use face towels so they were only provided when asked for. Now, they provide them automatically. Also, dining took hours with long periods of time between courses. They now get you in and out in a normal amount of time.

Entertainment was very good in the showroom and throughout the ship. There were only two complaints I have with the ship itself. First, in the main showroom there were not enough hand rails to hold on to while going up and down the stairs to your seats. I saw a number of older passengers trip and stumble up and down the stairs, some of whom got hurt. Second, the pools are really nice but the ladders used to get into and out of the pools are verticle and very difficult to use for heavy or older folks. My wife is weight challenged and I needed to push her up the ladder in order to get out. If they angled them into the pool like stairs it would be much easier. As for the food, in my opinion it was an 8 out of 10 and service was 9 out of 10. The cabin attendant we had was great. My wife uses an electric scooter and sometimes had trouble moving around the ship mostly because there are a lot of Europeans on board and they are generally rude to handicapped people, especially when it comes to elevator usage. If you're looking for a cruise line that is pretty much handicapped accessible you want Holland America. My wife and I recommend this cruise line and would take this ship again if it suited our plans & destinations. The negatives I've identified here are not show stoppers.

Cabin Review

A slight bit bigger than normal, very clean and comfortable.
