Anyone thinking twice about taking a carnival cruise should reconsider because what more can you ask for we arrived ready for a great vacation amd the freedom delivered. I was traveling along with my wife two children(6&9) and mother in law(first cruise). This was our second carnival cruise our first was on the pride and having been fully satisfied we felt confident with booking again. We ultimately decided on the freedoms 8 night souther caribbean from ft lauderdale roundtrip visiting st.thomas, antigua, san juan and nassau.
First off embarkation day as always is very hectic but if you have cruised before you know the drill and its nothing new so be prepared to deal with lines, annoyed passengers, complaints and so on but a smile and a beautiful ship are soon to be awaitng you. Check in was swift and by 1:00p we were on the ship and exploring the large ship.
The ship is very nice decor is the usual carnival quirky but all in all nice, we did luck out as the ship was just retrofitted with the 2.0 upgrades that were a great addition to the ship. The pool deck has the blue iguana tequila bar and red frog rum bar which provide great pool drinks and cocktails. Also by the pool area is the guys burger joint and blue iguan burrito and taco which were both very good alternatives to the buffet. The food on carnival is good and above par in my opinoin for the price of the cruise. The quality is definitely there i mean who uses imported flour to make pizza only carnival which is why they have the best pizza in the cruise industry hands down only princess comes close to them. The didnig room also excedes expectations with great offerings every night.
