My husband and I were able to get away for a last minute vacation and had never cruised. I found a last minute Cruise on the Carnival Magic from a port we could drive to. Our ports included Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel.
We unfortunately had an inside cabin but our cabin steward Antonio was a wonderful guy. He went the extra mile and always made sure we had ice in our room. Our dining room waitress Netty also was supurb. She was very friendly and gave good suggestion on our days on shore as well as things to do on board. The food overall was very good. Fairly short wait times in the cafeteria most of the time.
We enjoyed the comedy club very much 2 different nights, Being 1st time cruisers and fairly easy to please we would definitely recommend giving Carnival a try. Not sure we will choose to cruise again anytime soon. We were a couple and very much enjoyed the serenity deck and spa usage from being on Deck 11. This is a big family ship with lots of kids. Pools were always very crowded as you would probably expect.
Cabin Review
The room I was told is a nice size for a ship. This was our 1st cruise so nothing to compare to. Our steward Antonio went above and beyond to see that we were well taken care of. He made sure we had 2 ice buckets filled in our room all the time. Being able to access the spa was wonderful. We enjoyed the saunas and steam rooms along with the tholossal whirlpool. If you are choosing an inside room this is the level you want. Mostly quiet. A few kids in the halls on occasion. This is one deck above the cafeteria at the front of the ship so didn't need to fight the elevators very often.
