Sail Date: Jul 2014

Celebrated my 50th birthday with hubby and it was the best vacation I've ever had. Easy on and off ship. We took advantage of a embarkation spa special "Aroma Ocean Spa Massage." It definitely set the stage for the rest of the trip - RELAXED. Seaweed wrap, head-to-toe massage. Ahhhh.

FOOD: We had early dinner seating and ate in main dining room most of the time. Food was good. Not great but decent for mass cooking. - We did get a chance to enjoy the "Chef's Table." Very memorable and worth every penny. Sign up early via Steakhouse Online Reservation. It was only offered twice (12 at each sitting) during our cruise. - Bonsai Sushi very good ($5-$17). - Cucina del Capitan was okay. Went for lunch and served pasta bar. Sit down service which was nice and no wait like the Lido. - Lido - nothing but lines and I can't stand them. Lido deck had difficulties running out of ice and people dropping ice cream all over the place….sad. Stood 30 minutes to get Mongolian Wok and disappointed that traditional veggies were not offered, no water chestnuts, no bamboo shoots, no mushrooms, no baby corn, you get the message. - Guy's, what can I say, AWESOME! - Deli had good Rueben sandwiches. - Desserts forever……

ACTIVITIES: Plenty to do on ship. - Played Bingo (didn't like I had to buy a package instead of a strip of Bingo cards.) Was forced to buy a $10 Bingo Card AND $20 of Pull Tabs; not cool. - Rocked with Groove#6 in the Ocean Plaza - Watched movies on the pool's MEGA screen - Played Blackjack. Not enough tables, crammed up. Slowest bar service in Casino, up to 40 minutes. Still had fun. - Dance parties at pool, lobby, ocean plaza. And, yes, latin music was played but mostly in lobby. Other types throughout the ship. - Sunbathe - Waterslides - Sky Course - Serenity is huge but not serene. Located by waterside and lines form over the space, not quiet. And, no pool area (3 decks down), just hot tub. - And the list goes on.

Cabin Review

Plenty of room for two. Received additional spa discounts. Room very quiet (except when neighbors were hammered). Easy access to spa (one deck up) and Lido/pool (one deck down). Be sure to call for wakeup as it is an interior room with no natural light. Would stay again. I would not recommend this room for four people.
