Sail Date: Nov 2013

We spent 30 days on the Star in 2013 (B2B to Hawaii). 15 days in D733 non-standard mini-suite and 15 days in a balcony.

Great cruise. The weather was very good for that time of year. There were a couple of rough days on the way over (same old, same old for the Pacific).

Hawaii is beautiful. The first trip we just got a feel for where everything was and the second trip we did a lot of exploring.

Cabin Review

This is a fantastic mini-suite. The Princess web site states it is non-standard and can only be in a twin bed configuration. HOWEVER, if you ask your steward to set it up as a queen - it can be done. The space to walk from the bed area to the balcony area is a little tight, but not so tight that you have to crawl on the bed. The balcony is enormous!! It is not covered (the same for all Dolphin deck balconies). There is room for 10-20 of your friends. It was great. The second TV in the bed area is a little hard to watch from the bed when set up as a queen - but it didn't bother us. We rarely watched TV in the bed.The bathroom is also "non-standard". Mini-suites have a tub/shower, these end rooms have a "handicap" shower. It is FANTASTIC!! I hate the coffin sized showers in standard rooms, it was hard to go back. The entrance door was another plus - it is at the end of the hall and turn the corner, only you, and two aft cabins (2 suites?). Never saw anyone in "our" hall. These cabins were originally designed as Handicap cabins, but they did not pass inspection for this use.
