Sail Date: Jul 2014

I had a wonderful time on the July 13th sailing of the Norwegian Breakaway! Although I had taken several traditional cruises before, I had never been on a "Free-Style" cruise, so did not know how I would like it, but I enjoyed the food, service and entertainment very much! I was traveling alone and stayed in a solo studio cabin, which was very comfortable, and I met some very nice people on the cruise with whom I did things on board and on land.

There was music playing everywhere and approximately 4000 passengers on board, including many children, so sometimes the noise level on this ship got a little too loud for me, but then I would just go outside and sit on Deck 8 and enjoy the peace, quiet and conversation with others out there.

My only suggestion to NCL would be for the dining room staff to try harder to seat solo travelers like me with others at dinner time like other cruise lines do, rather than having single people sit alone.

Cabin Review

My cabin was not big, but very clean and well-engineered with ample space to hang and store my clothes and personal items. My cabin steward was very friendly and efficient, and did a great job cleaning and maintaining my cabin. I was also able to use the solo studio lounge for solo travelers, where complimentary coffee, tea and pastries were offered, and passengers staying in the solo cabins could relax there and socialize with fellow solo passengers.
