We ( our family of 15 people) travelled from Barcelona to Venice on the NCL Spirit. While this is a smaller ship, it does not seem crowded at the pools or the restaurants. The crew is very attentive to your needs and does their best to accommodate special requests. The shows were ok. Nothing spectacular like other cruises I have been on with exception of the show ELEMENTS. That was fabulous!!
With regard to the show excursions, be prepared to be solicited from being taken to rug shops and touristy knick knack shops that reminded me of ones I have seen in Mexico. On one tour, they took us to 3 different places trying to get us to buy stuff. There were a lot of angry people by the end of that tour.
For those taking the "Scenic Views of Mikonos" tour, save your money!! take the tender into Mikonos and wander around the town. The island is not equipped to handle the amount of people brought in by the cruise ships. The tour takes you around the island by bus and there are bus jams at the sights. Not to mention, lack of bathroom facilities and a long walk back to the tender port when done because they want to you to walk through the shops and there is no way to get a bus to the tender port. Taxis are also very difficult to locate.
Cabin Review
Be warned!! Although the floor plan on NCL says that this room can sleep 3, it can't. This room adjoins to suites on either side and appears to be an additional bedroom for either of these suites. It is quite small with enough room for the king size bed and about 2 feet on two sides. The bathroom is fairly large. Also noted, with regard to 10001 and 10002, 10500 and 10502, the diagram says these rooms are adjoining and make it look like it is a door. It is not, the only way to make these cabins adjoining is to remove the wall between them.
