Just returned from our Carnival Legend Cruise, and would highly recommend this ship and the western carribean ports to anyone! We booked private company excursions to have a more personal experience and would highly recommend all of them (we were nervous with our first booking outside of the cruise line offerings the first time we tried this 3 years ago ... but thanks to such sites as tripadvisor and cruise critic, we research the best reviews, and now wouldn't do it any other way - don't be afraid to use these private companies - you'll enjoy a lower price and more personal service!) Cozumel H2O for beginning scuba and snorkeling, Ecotours Belize - Mayan Ruins, Ebanks in Grand Cayman for jetski tour of stingray city and snorkeling, and most of all, Roatan Trips and Tours (RTT) with Steve Bush for a private tour of the island to do anything you want! We toured both sides of the island, ziplined, went to the Iguana Park and snorkeled on the reef - Steve was absolutely the best!! He is doing wonderful community give-back work too - please support the efforts of his family! The Legend is a beautiful ship - slightly smaller than any others we had been on, but the service there was also more personal. The ship is meticulously cared for, and the rich dark wood tones with the glass and brass is stunning. The arrival time back in Tampa was later than experienced on other cruises, which gave us a later start time for our drive back home - we carried our own luggage and used the self-assist disembarkment process by deck level which was very easy. Our deck was called at 9:10 and by 9:30 we had cleared customs and the valet had already retrieved our car (well worth the extra few dollars above self parking) However, with a 14 hour drive home, I had hoped for an earlier start - my fault for not noting the arrival time in Tampa.

Cabin Review

This is the last balcony room at the rear side of the ship (room next to it is a suite). Loved that it accomodated 4 of us very easily. The 2 teens sleep on the twins, one of which pulls down from the ceiling. We asked the steward to keep it down the entire cruise so everyone had a place to "hang out" during the down time. Very quiet at the back of the ship. We are all in good shape so walking each day was not an issue. We only used the elevators twice during the entire cruise. Only negative was the smoker on her balcony below us each day - will be happy when the entire ship is smoke free!
