My husband and I researched several top rated cruise lines before electing to go on Silver Sea. We had cruised before with Holland, Disney and Oceania. Our friends had recommended Regent, Seaborne and SilverSea as our choices for a 6 star cruise. I am writing this review so others will benefit in choosing their 6 star cruise based on the Silver Sea Silver Wind cruise we experienced from July 8-18, 2014.
After being sent a travel journal prior to sailing by SilverSea, we read the various shore excursions and when we arrived the first day went directly to the desk of the shore excursions after getting the key to our cabin. The young lady was not very helpful or courtesy but we had done our research by reading the travel journal sent by Silver Sea describing various excursions. In addition, prior to sailing we spoke to friends who highly recommended Guell Park. The “Gaudi’s Barcelona” excursion stated “your half day excursion explores some of Gaudi’s most renowned projects including Guell Park…….” We took the tour and much to our dismay never went to Guell Park.
The next day I took my complaint back to Silversea. Instead of understanding our frustration and possibly sending us out the next day by taxi to Guell park, they informed us that the “Travel Journal” we had been sent by them was printed before the updated tour description and that the online version indicates the stop at Colonia Guell and not Guell Park. They regretted any dissatisfaction we may have experienced. Now, that’s a 6 star ship comment!
