It was just OK - but certainly not worth the money it cost.

I was very disappointed in the cruise. I had been looking forward to it based on reviews read but they did not tell the whole story it seems. The ship is old and does not always function properly. The air conditioning in our room (311) was non existent 90% of the time and when questioned, the staff admitted "well it does not work too good on that side of the ship." It seems to work in the public areas and one side but not the other side of the ship Unless of course they want you to vacate an area and then it seems they turn it off completely in that area. The last night of the cruise the dining room got so hot at the end of the meal that everyone was using the menu's to fan themselves so of course they got their wish and people got up and left instead of being able to relax and visit after eating. The same thing was done the morning of debarkation to the rooms so people would vacate the rooms for cleaning.

The food served was expertly cooked and tasted wonderful however the selection available was really limited and some very strange choices. We had one night where EVERYTHING was made with Mushrooms. Appetizers, Entrees, and even the desert ! They call it their theme night. From what I understand on the previous cruise the week earlier it was all Asparagus. The deserts were very limited selection and thank heavens they at least had vanilla ice cream available as an alternative if you asked.

We had one night we tried to go the library at the back of the boat to play some cards and it was impossible to even hear each other with all the noise and the shaking of the boat as it cruised. I cannot even imagine what the people in the rooms in the back of the boat had to put up with. We had to leave the room just to get rid of the headache caused.

Cabin Review

The room was extremely small. if sitting at the vanity my husband had to crawl over the bed to get around me. As mentioned, the air conditioning did not work and we were told "Oh yes, the air conditioning does not work too good on that side of the ship." You could not open the door at night while the ship was moving due to the bugs, etc. And even in port you still had the bug issue plus they often would double park the boats do you had another stateroom right next to you. this is an old ship and needs to be retired.
