Can't help but come away feeling really disappointed.

Sail Date: June 2014
Destination: Mediterranean
Embarkation: Barcelona
So anyway. We have cruised before 4 times infact. Every cruise we have been on has had great excursions, great pricing, great value, and if we had any problems with them we had money off the bill.

This brings me to my first and biggest criticism of the Disney Cruise line excursions.

Firstly we where almost certain we cancelled one of our excurions. It was a visit to Monaco with the little train. This cost us $91 per person. When we priced this excursion up seperately it come to around $20 each. So that's disney grinding money and making 300-400% out of each guest.

The person behind the excursion desk said that he had no record of this being cancelled before boarding and the cancellation timeframe has now expired. We accepted this and went on the heavily overpriced tour. Only to be stuck in traffic for 2 hours getting to Monaco - with no extension on our cruise time, even though the cruise excursion guides had no other excursions planned. I was furious. I More complained to the desk and they said they will capture our feedback. We heard nothing back.

The next problem was another pricey excursion we booked on Corfu. This supposedly included a tour to a beach, village, villa with some wine tasting.

The beach was fine. The Villa was a bar/tavern the wine tasting experience included wine served out of a PLASTIC bottle. That literally tasted like vinegar. Absolute rip off. Again we and two other guests on the excursion felt the same way and we all complained. Only to hear NOTHING back. The customer service was absolutely ROCK BOTTOM. I've cruised with Celebrity and princess before and had far better customer service when problems arose.

We spent over £7300 on the room for a 12 night cruise. The food was OK but nothing great -far better on Celebrity imho. For the sake of disney taking our critiscism on board giving us a small discount of $20-60 on the excursions it has left us furious.

We spoke to many other guests and they also felt robbed by the excursions.

Let me also say this. You go on disney boat. You expect it to be 100% geared towards kids? Is it! NO it is far from geared for kids.

We had a 2.5 year old son with us. There was only a nursery (Charged at $8 per hour) that he could go into. He wasn't allowed into Palo (the adult only cover restaurant). He didn't like nursery so we where so restricted in the things that we could do.

They had more ADULT only sections of the ship than NON adult only. They had adult only entertainment that we missed out on night after night. It just left us baffled and amazed. We really thought this would be so geared towards kids, But quite the opposite.

Some positives include - the staff, they where fantastic. The pirate party with fireworks was amazing.

I will never EVER be cruising whit Disney again. Next time it will be Royal Caribbean or NCL as they are very close to Disney for child ammenities.

Think VERY carefully before you blow so much money on a Disney cruise guys. You can quite literally get a deluxe suite with Royal Caribbean for the same money!

We went on the celebrity equinox a few years back and actually got PENTHOUSE suites for a little extra money than we paid on Disney! Sadly celebrity has nothing for children Less
