Sail Date: Apr 2014

We were aboard the Bestla for her maiden voyage on the Rhine Getaway from Amsterdam to Basel.  The short version is absolutely first class all the way.

The longer version: We flew into Amsterdam two days prior and were housed at the Moevenpick, located conveniently near Central Station and within walking distance to the docking location for Viking ships.

We were met at the airport by a Viking driver and shuttled to the hotel.

Cabin Review

Cabin Veranda B

Surprisingly, for being at the rear of the ship on the mid-level, this cabin was very quiet. The cabin is designed for optimal use of space. Plenty of storage in the closet and under the bed, as well as several drawers. The big-screen TV is very adequate for the size of the cabin. The safe is the largest we have ever found in any hotel or cruise ship. The bathroom is small, but very efficient. We especially appreciated the heated floor.
