1st experience with aqua class

Sail Date: April 2014
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Miami
We began cruising with Chandris, which later became Celebrity. As of now, we have 21 cruises on Celebrity plus 14 cruises on other lines. This was our second cruise on the Reflection (the first being the initial transatlantic prior to the official naming of the ship), and this, our first experience in aqua class.

Embarkation went very well - we were on the ship quickly and soon enjoying a buffet lunch with a glass of wine.

Our Aqua class stateroom was totally acceptable, but it was missing some amenities. This was the first cruise we did not bring our own compact binoculars....and there were none in the room. We did request them of our attendant, but none showed up until AFTER our last port. Also the room was missing a hairdryer, a tote bag, and the leather key card holder.

Blu restaurant was extremely good up until the last evening when it seemed service dropped off several notches. The final morning it was worse - we waited 15 minutes at the table prior to More even being offered a glass of water. Our request for a cafe' americano was met with "our specialty coffee station is closed down as we are making preparations for the next cruise". ( We had received a similar response the night before when requesting a specific wine that we had come to enjoy earlier on the cruise, telling us that wine had been removed from stock for the remainder of the cruise). After a considerable wait, our order for breakfast was taken, but after being in the restaurant for nearly 45 minutes we still had no food or drink, so we left to get our remaining items out of the stateroom to meet the 8AM vacate request. NO FOOD OR COFFEE THAT FINAL MORNING IN THE BLU!!

Ports visited were very good, and we enjoyed each one thoroughly even though we had visited each of them on prior cruises. There are always so many new things to do and see.

Persian gardens was great and we did enjoy it several times.

Debarking was orderly but extremely slow. Normally we take our own luggage off the ship, but did not this time....major mistake.

Conclusion: Celebrity remains our choice of cruise lines, but we are seeing things that trouble us greatly - things that will lead Celebrity to being "just another cruise line". Sadly, we feel we received only 6 days of service on our 7 day cruise, as all priority seemed to be preparation for the next batch of cruisers on that last day of the cruise. We wrote to guest relations to inform them of our concerns and the problems we encountered, and received an "I'm sorry, we will take steps to remedy these issues". As of now, we have two more Celebrity cruises scheduled and are hoping to see an improvement as we have a number of other folks cruising with us. Less

Cabin review:

The cabin was pretty much what we expected, good attendant service for the most part, but it was missing amenities as previously mentioned.
