We booked airfare, pre cruise in Amsterdam and post cruise in Prague with Viking. Our flight arrangements were good and hotels were excellent both in accommodations and location. We had walking tours in both locations and a Viking concierge at each hotel. A Viking rep was waiting at the airport in Amsterdam and drove us immediately to the hotel and in Prague we had a van with two other couples who had the same flight. The rep in Prague had luggage carts waiting for us and guided us to the proper check-in counter. Very efficient and well done!

We had a French veranda which we enjoyed for the ability to have a big window. The cabin though small was well laid out with a US electrical outlet at each nightstand and one on each end of the desk. The crew were wonderful - pleasant and hardworking delivering excellent service. The first night of the cruise was my birthday and the maitre d' approached my husband during dinner to ask if I would like the staff to sing happy birthday. He declined and so they delivered a cake to our room. How she knew who we were is a mystery as they don't take pictures of the passengers like they do on ocean cruises.

The food was very good - an amuse bouche every night , appetizer, a selection of meat, fish or meatless for entree along with three always available choices for entrees. Several nights musical entertainment was brought on board and there also was a pianist who played every night. Viking did a wonderful job of keeping to the itinerary in spite of delays at locks and low water levels. We did double dock 3 times - in Passau, Krems and Budapest. This did not bother us as we were off the ship for much of the time we were docked. The free internet was OK in our room (we were fairly close to the lobby) but good in the lobby areas and lounge. I can't express enough how much the wonderful itinerary, beautiful ship and friendly, attentive staff made this the vacation of a lifetime. We had excellent guides for our shore excursions and the quiet vox audio systems were the best ones we have ever used on a cruise.
