Came back AGAIN because I had so much FUN last year (and I brought my family with me this time). Prior to leaving Anchorage via train to Seward, we stayed at the Embassy Suites for 3 nights (best place to stay in Anchorage HANDS DOWN!!). My parents had only cruised on Monarch OTS (3 & 4 night cruises out of Los Angeles) & had always had an interior cabin. This time I treated them to a balcony cabin and they were truly in awe (my sister roomed with me right next door). The service & crew were EXCELLENT!!! We did some of the same excursions I had done the year prior but I did change it up a bit. Excursions we took: Juneau - Whale Watching with lunch at Orca Point & Mendenhall Glacier (later we did the Mt. Roberts Tram so they could see Lady Liberty & then stopped by Tracy's Crab Shack & the Red Dog Saloon); Skagway - White Pass Train to Frazier, then bus to Yukon Suspension Bridge & then back down the road to have lunch & pan for gold; Icy Strait - Ziplined with my sister & then the 3 of them went to Alaska's Wildest Kitchen in the afternoon (I could only get 3 tickets otherwise I would have gone again), had lunch at the Crab Shack (get the "Grab Bag" - best bang for your buck); Ketchikan - City Tour via Trolley, Saxman Totem Pole Park & the Lumberjack Show (I got a "cookie" this time - YoHo!!); Vancouver - City Tour enroute to airport. Lots of good memories from this cruise (and they ALL are still talking about it a year later). I feel like an expert with this ship/itinery that I'll be going solo in 2014!!! Check out my review from last year (Sept. 2012).
