I booked the Carnival Breeze as I got such a great deal & because I have to pay $500+ airfare from Toronto to MIami I looked for another cruise that I could BTB on. Getaway got such great reviews & the dates worked so I booked a studio cabin on it. I'd done studio cabins before on Epic & really liked them & the access to the lounge.
I just walked off Breeze & 5 or so minutes later was at the terminal for Getaway. Got there about 10:30 & was group 4 which was called at 11:30. Headed up to the Flamingo Bar/Restaurant to try some Cuban food. I must say I was very impressed with the decor of the ship & the Miami/Key West tropical vibe of it. Went to my cabin at 1:00 pm & was surprised to find a plate of choclate covered strawberries that my DD had gifted me for Mothers' Day, yum! Went to the studio lounge where I had a fancy coffee & met a lady first time cruiser & later at sailaway also met a guy, another cruise virgin, there was quite a few of them on this ship & also people from different countries. Before the drill M & I joined a large group for a tour of the ship with "Zesty Zac" who was a real fun dude. Oh that reminds me you must watch their version of "Dancing with the Stars" whether in person or on the tv. it's a hoot!
Throughout the week I never did go with the group from the lounge to any dinners as I had made reservations for what I wanted to do & didn't want to miss anything. It is a great idea tho' meeting others at the lounge so solos can do things together especially eat. Jesy was very approachable & kind in his roll as our leader, quite cute too.
I really liked my studio cabin & it's location a couple of doors away from the Studio Lounge. It was also not very far from the forward elevators & had no noise issues at all.
