My husband and I travelled on island escape for our first cruise and was not disappointed. The crew were fantastic and kept the ship clean at all times, yes the cabins are small but you only sleep in them so why you would need a bigger cabin is a mystery to me. The food was excellent with a great choice every meal so never felt hungry we ate most of our meals in the ocean dining room which we found very pleasant and it was nice to sit and chat to different people each meal, although one evening we did ask for a table for two (very limited) the waiter was very obliging and found us a table.

The ports of call were excellent some trips we booked with the cruise some we completed on our own as we felt that the trips were overpriced. A tip for anyone visiting Pisa don't book with the cruise as £48 when you get off the boat there are people selling taxi trips for £15 each for a 2 hour trip to the leaning tower of Pisa (2 hours is long enough to see as not much else to do). Also at Barcelona as soon as you get off the boat there are open top buses which were excellent value for money and very good for sightseeing.

Overall we felt it was an excellent holiday for the price and feel the people who write the negative reviews should be cruising with P&O and paying their prices as they obviously expected 5 star for 3 star money on island escapes. we will most definitely be booking this cruise ship again as had the most wonderful holiday and saw 5 beautiful countries in 7 days unlike your 7 day package holiday in one resort.
