Really enjoyed our second cruise & debut with MSC. The Poesia is a well maintained, modern ship & there were zero problems embarking in Copenhagen. Our taxi from the airport was aware that the port has moved further out & we felt sorry for those making their way on foot as it was a warm day plus it's a long walk. We got there just after noon & though we were told our cabin would not be ready until 14.00, we were thrilled that we could walk straight in & get comfortable. I liked the buffet food from the off, the Pizza was exceptional as were many of the desserts. Portions for the evening meals were a little meagre but you could always ask for more. The waiting staff were super efficient with most staff on board being either Indonesian or Brazilian while most of the senior roles are filled by Italians. Theatre entertainment was somewhat repetitive though of a good quality & they stuck rigidly to a 40 minute performance which meant you had time to get a few drinks before an evening meal. The dress code was suitably lax & much to our liking, I did wear a tie on the gala nights & some people wore tuxedos, you never got the feeling that you had to dress up.

Tours were a little hit & miss, probably a bit more expensive than justified & staff seemed to have problems getting you into your group. Some of the bus trips into our destinations were similarly over priced, mind you the Scandinavian destinations are expensive for most things. If you didn't opt for the drinks package, alcohol was not a crazy price, a glass of vino came in at €5.00-€5.75 with soft drinks €2.70. I would have loved free ice-cream scoops & it wouldn't have cost a fortune either. Another plus would have been a cafe at a lower level than the buffet just serving coffee & cakes. All arrivals & exits were punctual. Getting off the ship was fine, no problems or delays.

Cabin Review

Really nice cabin with everything well laid out & clean.
