Sail Date: May 2014

We sailed on the Thomson Dream from Palma on the 10/05/14 on the treasures of the Mediterranean although she is an old lady of the sea we were pleasantly surprised as to how good she actually is. Our cabin was on deck 7 inside and was clean and quite spacious the food on board was of a good standard and plenty for everyone I do sometimes wonder if some people complain just for the sake of it. We did not find a problem with sun beds as some people have expressed on other reviews. However it do’s appear that Thomson have cut back on the number of crew as we found unlike previous cruises we had to wait quite a while before anyone came to take our drinks order and a lot of times we went to the bar area to get our own which they then would bring to us this more so around the Lido pool area But as usual the crew could not be faulted Now to the trips that Thomson run in Sardinia we did our own thing in Sorrento we went to Vesuvius and Pompeii the climb to the top of the volcano is not for anyone with walking difficulties but the view from the top is well worth the climb Pompeii was well worth the visit but you really need a good day to see it all. From Civitavecchia we did the Rome all day trip this involves a lot of walking but you do get to see a lot of Rome and it is easy walking however you do not get a meal with this trip and be warned Rome is very expensive and for what you pay we thought it was way overpriced also as this trip runs on a Wednesday when you get to the Vatican it was very crowded and it was a bit of a fiasco getting out of Rome Lastly the disembarkation at Palma to get the coaches to our hotel was a complete shambles and farce Thomson really need to get their act together on this but all in all a good cruise.
