Travelling with my husband and his mother we loved every moment of this cruise. Embarkation was quick and easy, we arrived at 1pm, the only drawback being the heavens opened just as we left the car with our luggage and we had no option but to get very wet walking from the blue badge car park which did not seem very close to the terminal. We had lunch in the Windjammer, which although was quite busy we had no problem finding a table, and the food there throughout the cruise was very good, great selection, very tasty, plenty of salads, vegetarian options, staff quick to clear tables but a little slow to ask if you would like a drink. We also used the main dining room on a few occasions for both lunch and dinner, service fantastic as was the food.

We found our cabin and all was in good order. Carpets, curtains, balcony and bathroom not showing the age of the ship, and towels thick, white and fluffy. Steward very welcoming and helpful. In fact all staff we met were brilliant, especially Bruce and Phillip from the Champagne Bar and Nadia from guest services who sorted out our queries very efficiently. The condition of the ship was very good, I noticed some wear on the chairs in the Jesters Venue and Casino, but nothing that would detract from the enjoyment of the cruise.

We attended some of the shows, the Bee Gees tribute night was a very good show, the ice show was excellent and the Production show 'can't stop the rock' and the farewell show which featured a magician ( it was ok ). The best show was the married couples one, absolutely hilarious! Rob Macnally and Jamie make a great team and are very entertaining. The Captains Corner question and answer session was very informative and humorous.

Cabin Review

Balcony is steel so you need to stand up to get a good view from it. Queen size bed with a sofa that can be used for extra person. Good position in the aft, very few people walk past so fairly quiet. Located near service area but we were not troubled by this. Located above dining room but no noise heard.
