I love Celebrity and have already booked two more cruise on the Silhouette and the Summit. I had a great time on a very nice ship. Our verandah stateroom was beautiful. We especially enjoyed the violinist, Doug Cameron. The crew, cabin steward, Peter, waiters, Carlos, Domenic, bartenders at the molecular bar, and cruise director , Alejandro, went out their way to ensure we had a great experience. And we did, but it was not without problems.

First, embarkation was a nightmare. We stood in line inching along with crowds of people wondering why it was such a problem. When we did get close enough we could see employees milling around and not many checking people in. We think there were computer glitches though no one apprised us of the situation or apologized.

Next, the organization of the Ocean View cafe was horrendous. People were rushing from station to station cutting you off or just standing in the middle dazed and confused. I literally got punched in the face when a crew member tried to direct a cruiser with a sweep of his arm. If you wanted to browse the offerings before selecting you were always in the way. Another time I approached a station only to be cut off by a women who then stopped to talk to her husband while I waited. Impatient because I was standing there she pushed my arm to move me ahead of her. Unbelievably she was insulted when I asked her not to touch me. It was also hard to find a seat at lunch. Crew tried their best, but it was impossible to keep the tables cleaned quickly unless you were eating and they were whisking your empty dishes from under you in attempt to hurry you along. I didn't enjoy eating here as I have on the Summit.

Cabin Review

This cabin was in a great location near the forward elevators which were not as crowded as midship. The room was spacious, clean, and the bed was comfortable. We had plenty of storage for a 7 night cruise. Suitcases fit comfortably under the bed. Bathroom was clean and bright with clear shower doors. The swivel wall mounted TV made it easy to enjoy a late night movie from the free in demand menu. We watched a few recent Oscar nominated films that we missed in the theater. Our verandah was a good size with two chairs and a small table. Couch was large and comfortable. Bed was by sliding verandah doors.
