Sail Date: May 2014

We sailed on May 5th. This was our first celebrity cruise for my husband and I (my eighth cruise and his fourth cruise). We are both in our 30s and were celebrating our first wedding anniversary. We had a fabulous time on the Silhouette. Service was excellent and the ship was just beautiful and spotless. We chose the anytime seating and ate at the main dining room 9 nights out of the 11 nights we were there. Food was very good and always found something on the menu. I am glad we chose the anytime dining. We met other couples who had the early dining time and were seated with strangers. Some eventually just missed their dinner times and dinned on the fourth floor for anytime dining. We were given a table for two every night and did not have to sit with strangers. They are pretty lenient about changing your dining times if you do not want the set schedule. We tried one of the specialty restaurant Qsine and had a fabulous time. The cover charge was $45/pp which was very pricey in my opinion. Fortunately, we had on board credit so it I did not break the bank. The food is tapas style from around the world in a very whimsical setting. We loved the experience.

We had the classic beverage package included and were able to enjoy cocktails, wines, and premium teas and coffees. However, if you wanted a top shelf drink like grey goose tonic, you will have to pay for that drink because that is considered a premium drink. You cannot pay the difference in which the classic covers and the cost of the premium drink. After two days, we decided to upgrade my husband’s drink package to a premium package because he likes his top shelf liquor. It was an additional $10/day and we found it worth it since you have a bigger wine selection and also premium waters like Evian and San Pellegrino water. We only upgraded his drink package but I was also able to use it at martini bar where they have a fantastic selection of martinis. The bartenders there are Awesome (Peter and Hector).

Entertainment/shows I would say is Silhouette’s downfall. The best show was probably the late night comedy show and he main comedy show. We watched probably 4 other shows and we were not impressed. The same dancers and singers for the main shows, a violinist, an illusionist, and singers. We were not impressed. I think by far the best show I have seen on a cruise ship was on the Oasis of the Seas which were equivalent to broadway shows. I met many people who agreed the shows were lacking.
