Sail Date: Apr 2014

On April 25th, we set sail for a 8 day cruise on board th Carnival Breeze. The ship was tastefully decorated, not tacky and flashy like other Carnival ships we have been aboard. We stayed in a balcony cabin on the 6th floor. Room was always cleaned in a timely manner. Entire staff was very friendly. Our steward and wait staff always addressed us by name . Nice variety of food choices at the Buffet, however we preferred breakfast and dinner in the Sapphire dining room. Breakfast was delicious every morning, however, dinner options were hit or miss. Not impressed with the lobster on formal night. Guy's Burger joint on the Lido deck was delicious but our favorite lunch spot was the BBQ joint located on deck 5. The adults only Serenity deck was a fantastic place to kick back and relax. And when we were ready for some fun, the water slide was a thrill! Plenty of planned activities like Trivia games to keep you busy. Punchliners comedy club adult shows were great, but get there early if you want a seat. Plenty of entertainment on board from Piano bar and Live bands to Karaoke. The ports of call included Grand Turk, DR, Aruba and Curaçao. Our favorite was Grand Turk. Beautiful beach with plenty of lounge chairs. Peddlers can be bothersome, but a polite "no thank you" keeps them moving. DR was our least favorite port. Not many options that we were interested in. We did take a shuttle from the port for $7 round trip to Altos de Chavon ( be warned this place is a replica not authentic but provided beautiful views of the Chavon River). In Aruba, we shared a taxi to Palm Beach. Definitely recommend this beach, plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas to rent and use of rest rooms at nearby hotels. Disembarkation was easy, we decided against Self Assist disembarkation since we were not in a hurry to catch a flight. However, waiting for our luggage at the carosel was time consuming. Overall, great vacation and we would definitely book the Carnival Breeze again.
