Me and my fiancé just went on the Norwegian Getaway on an Eastern Caribbean cruise. This was our first cruise and first vacation actually and we were not disappointed in the least. I organized the hole thing from flights, hotel, and to the port and back again.

We flew into Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. and stay at the Quality Inn Airport/Port Hotel. From there we got a shuttle I purchased (SAS Transportation) which took us to the port quickly and the cost was low. Upon getting to the Port of Miami we saw the Getaway and it was beautiful on the outside as well as inside. Going through the Port terminal was quick as well which we were happy with. From the main entry to the ship only took about 20 minutes. NCL was very quick about getting people onboard quickly and steadily as possible. When we got on the ship we walked around seeing everything waiting until they announced that staterooms were ready. We grabbed a bite to eat at O'Sheehan's Bar and Grill and was very satisfied with our meal. As well as every meal we had on the ship including the Garden Café (buffet), Savor, Taste, and the Flamingo Bar and Grill. In many cases it was difficult to decide where we wanted to eat. There was so many activities on the ship that it was almost impossible to do them all. Our steward, (who was wonderful in his service from keep the room clean to making the bed every time we left the room) deliver an itinerary sheet for each day of the week with date and times of all activities as well as information on shore excursions. Our first two days were at sea where we enjoyed meeting a lot of new people and enjoying the ship and ocean.

Our first stop was St. Maarten, where we got off the ship rather quickly and proceeded into the city. We then took a water taxi to the main beach. We spent the day at the beach and then went back to the ship after some shopping. The next day we went to St. Thomas where we enjoyed shopping and Coki Beach. This was by far our favorite spot the whole trip. Nassau was the last spot which we enjoyed swimming with the dolphins and exploring Atlantis. These were all shore excursions on the ship but due to some lack of funds for us we did not book them on the ship this time but just winged most of the trip. The ship was great and just beautiful, the crew was spectacular and always eager and wiling to help. Even if we stopped somewhere just to admire the view a member of the crew would just walk over and start a conversation with you. We did experience some of the shows like "Howl at the Moon" very funny, a couple of the trivia games they had for families, and even stopped by to watch a little of the Dora the Explorer show. (We have kids but they were not with us on this trip.) We loved our stateroom which was a balcony and the balcony itself was larger than most the others we could see.

Cabin Review

The stateroom was beautiful and just the right size for me and her. We did not feel crowded at all. This was good for us because we like the larger size balcony that came with the room including 2 lounge chairs and 2 regular chairs. If you are a smoker like myself you cannot smoke in the room but you can smoke on the balcony which was good enough for me. The room includes a television that is connected to the ship and you can access everything from your onboard account to shore excursions, as well as entertainment for the day, reserve dinner of a show, etc just from using a remote. Your room service including pizza deliver is just a push button on your stateroom phone. The layout is great and the color is very relaxing. I would stay in this room again
