NCL getaway is a beautiful new ship with tons of activities for young and old. We cruised with our 2 daughters, 12 and 9 year old. The ship is big and it took us a while to get our bearings. There are maps at the elevators and there are touch screens in some places that allow you to find the quickest way to where you want to go. They also show how busy certain restaurants were and I think they allow you to make restaurant and entertainment reservations as well although we didn’t try this because I booked everything before we went. Keep in mind that there is a 24 hour cancellation policy on restaurant reservations so if you change your mind you have to cancel 24 hours beforehand or you can switch to a different day.

We loved the iConcierge app that NCL offers for $8 per person. You get to text unlimited between family members so we could keep track of where we were on the ship and where to meet, etc. It also shows you the activities, dining and entertainment options. And it has a running total of your onboard account so you can keep track of your expenses! Instead of a lanyard I used a phone case wallet that had room for the room/cruise card and on port days stuck a credit card and ID in. This was quite handy.
