May 2 -5, 2014 3 Day - Nassau and Coco Cay
Without exception the crew is friendly and helpful and made our cruise a fun experience. The ship went into service in 1997, was refurbished in 2012 and is in remarkable good shape -- every rug on the ship looked bright, new and spotless. Check in at Port Canaveral was fast and easy. We selected a long weekend 3 day cruise (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and carried our luggage aboard at noon – our room was ready by 1:30 p.m.. We choose alternative dining in the Windjammer instead of the Main Dining Room -- Windjammer dining has an expanded selection of foods and allows us to mix and match at a time we want with service that is impeccable. The Windjammer was slightly crowded but this can be overcome by selecting different dining times. There were many announcements by the captain and crew on the PA system offing information about the cruise. The cruise directory Marc Walker is one of the best in Royal Caribbean and he made the 3 day weekend fun, interacting with the party crowd aboard. There were many offerings of sale items at competitive prices in the main promenade during the cruise. The entertainment was good and the main production show enjoyable. There was always plenty of open seats right up to Showtime. Pool deck activities were plentiful and enjoyable. Main dining room breakfast selection was plentiful and service excellent. On the last morning the ship slid silently into Port Canaveral at about 6:30 a.m. We choose to carry our luggage ashore and were off by 7:30 a.m. We would rate this cruise 3½ stars out of 5 based on prices, ship maintenance, food, service, entertainment and itinerary.
Stateroom 2135 is aft port side and was in good condition with no issues.
