We enjoyed our Pacific Coastal sailing very much following six hectic nights in Las Vegas and were looking to relax. As we travelled In Consierge category we did not find any delays in embarkation and simply walked off the ship at our chosen time on the last morning. We had wonderful weather for our trip which did catch us a bit unawares, so make sure you take plenty of sunscreen even for the cooler evenings on deck. As first time cruisers we did pre book our shore excursions and also our gratuities and beverage packages, so spent very little during our time on board. We did purchase a couple of photos but found them to be expensive at $19.95 per print. As others have stated we did find some areas of the ship looking tired and in need of redecoration or repair. The issues we did have with our cabin, namely the sink plug being broken, safe not working and a hinge on the being broken were dealt with very quickly by our room attendant Michael who was charming extremely helpful and excellent. We miss him now we are back home! We very much enjoyed sitting on the balcony each evening watching the world go by, although it could be chilly.

We mainly ate in the main dining room and had a great respect for the staff who served us, who were extremely busy, but always polite, charming and courteous. In particular we were impressed with Vera, who seated us promptly each evening and met our table requests when she was able to do so, assistant waiters Edgar and Rina were both fantastic and we enjoyed talking to them both. Our favourite waiter was Iman and his recommendations were spot on. He also showed concern when my husband ordered the breaded veal as a previous guest had found it tough, and offered to exchange the meal if it wasn't to my husbands taste, which was we considered excellent service. We very much enjoyed the variety of food, everything in the evening was served promptly and was hot and tasty. Due to the classic beverage package we had our wine by the glass and did not purchase it by the bottle. Breakfast at times was slow in particular if you ordered an omelette or eggs, however, we were in no hurry so this did not concern us apart from the morning we had an early excursion so we are in Islands Cafe instead. We found the cafe food to be fresh but not particularly hot so did not chose to eat there again.

We attended some of the evening entertainment, some of which was a bit Butlins, but we did enjoy the comedian and the juggler. We spent our other evenings enjoying the pianist in cova cafe and the singers. We enjoyed all the ports of call, but felt that the tenders were a bit overcrowded at times. The only tour we did not enjoy was the classic motor tour of catalina island. We were subjected to 31/2 hours in a 1952 bus with no air conditioning in temperatures in the high 80's. It was dusty and not very scenic especially if you were sat on the iffy hand side where you could not see anything of interest. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our time on Celebrity Century and have booked a Norwegian Fjords cruise for next year on Celebrity Eclipse.

Cabin Review

Spotlessly clean but tired and in need of a few minor repairs to the sink and hinge on the wardrobe. Paint was flaking on the balcony. Otherwise no complaints and the issues raised were dealt with promptly
